Lucia “Lucy” Pérez Escobedo, 72, of Houston, passed away January 20, 2026. Known for her strength, humor, and unwavering devotion to family, Lucy was a vibrant presence whose impact reached far beyond her home.
She was a proud mother, grandmother, and friend—feisty, honest, and full of personality. Her love of reading, her colorful style, and her signature wit made her unforgettable. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Gaga Lucy,” a name that captured her playful spirit and deep bond with them.
Lucy worked over two decades at Performance Truck, where she was known for her dedication and flair. Whether at work or at home, she listened, taught, and made people feel truly seen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, José Antonio and Carmen Pérez, and her brother Joe Pérez Jr. She is survived by her son Francisco (Bo) Trujillo and his wife Christina Trujillo, daughter Veronica Woods and her husband George Woods and daughter Jennifer (Jenny) Vasquez and her husband Jay Vasquez.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Madeleine, Gavin, Jacob, Jackson, Jonah, Juliana, and Jocelyn.
Lucy’s legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the joy she brought to every room. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
