Lucille Coons

Lucille Coons passed away Saturday, August 2nd at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Paul Coons, Sr. She is survived by her sons Paul Coons, Jr. of Houston and Craig Coons of Phoenix as well as Craig’s wife Sandy and his children Brandi, Derek and Dylan and great-granddaughter Chloe. She is also survived by her sister Florence Knabe of Houston. Lucy Coons was born in Lamar, Arkansas in 1921 and moved to the Houston Heights in her teens where she attended Reagan High School and was a member of Heights Christian Church. In the late 1970’s she and Paul moved to the Clear Lake area where they remained for almost forty years before returning to the Heights. Lucy was a stay at home mom while her children were under her roof but enjoyed a great working life thereafter primarily with American Fidelity Insurance Company. She was cheerleader and driver for the many sports endeavors of her husband and sons but will always be remembered for the one of a kind character she was and the generous personality she possessed. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, August 11, 2014 at Heights Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy., Webster, TX 77598
