Margaret “Maggie” Phillips, born September 27, 1948, in Conroe, Texas, danced through life with a song in her heart, and love in her soul. On February 8, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., Maggie passed away peacefully at home in Pearland, Texas, surrounded by family.
Maggie was a woman of many talents and passions. In the mid-1960s, she was a champion roller skater, gliding to first place in regional couples competitions and earning third place nationally. Around the same time, she was recognized for her exceptional vocal talent as an All-Region Choir honoree at Deer Park High School in 1966. She also graduated DPHS the same year. Her love of music continued into adulthood when she performed alongside her husband Bruce as part of their Houston duo, One Plus One, in the late 1970s.
But Maggie’s life wasn’t just about accolades—it was about the people she loved and the joy she brought to those around her. She was a devoted wife of 46 years to Bruce Phillips and a dedicated mother to Stephanie Phillips; Erika Henderson (and husband Bill); Brooke Phillips (and husband Abdias); Jason Phillips (and wife Angel); and stepdaughter Angela Vaughan (and husband Courtney). Her grandchildren—Niles, Gavin, Turner, and Josaphine Margaret—were the light of her life.
For 25 years, Maggie worked at QTS Analytical Services, the business she and Bruce built together. As a partner in both work and life, she exemplified hard work and partnership. Yet Maggie always made time for the things that brought her joy: music, shopping for treasures big and small, decorating with flair, tending to her plants, watching her favorite shows curled up with her dog, Zoe, and creating memories with family.
Maggie’s life was a symphony of love, creativity, and resilience—a melody that will echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
