Mamie Aguilar

Mamie Aguilar, of Houston, Texas passed away on April 30, 2017. Mamie was born on July 18, 1930 and was one of 11 children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Francisca Ramos, her husband Jose, 7 siblings, and three nieces.

Mamie is survived by her children: Yolanda Valle and husband, Ruben, Robert Aguilar and wife Sara, Lillian Lopez and husband Michael, David Aguilar and wife Mary, Frank Aguilar, Cindy Rayfield-Aguilar, Joe Aguilar, Rose Mary Garza and husband Joe, and Deborah Rittenhouse and husband Chuck.

She is also survived by her 3 remaining sisters, Janie Ramos, Lillie Rodriguez, and Frances Deleon, along with numerous nieces and nephews

She was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mamie worked as a sales clerk until her retirement at age 59. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and crafting. Mamie loved a good party and spending time with her family. She enjoyed her life and lived for her children . She loved being a grandma, thinking of her grandchildren until her memories faded. She was fiercely independent and fought her illness to the end, always doing things her own way.

We would like to thank Sunset Hospice and Nurse Bobbie for the loving care they gave to our mom. We also thank the staff at Legend Oaks Healthcare North and Nurse Adrian for their kindness. We especially thank Aide Sheryl for always making sure mom looked her best.
