

Manuel Luna, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, went home to Jesus on June 23, 2012. Manuel was born in La Porte, Texas on January 2, 1921, and lived the rest of his life in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, the love of his life, Alice Coronado Luna, who went home in June 2002. He owned and operated a shoe repair business until retirement in 1986. Manuel is survived by his 5 daughters and sons-in-law Sylvia Luna, Cecilia and Robert Hurtado, Amelia and Jerry Taylor, Anna Marie and Felix Garcia, Jr., and Dolores and Jeffrey Storm. He had 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Tory Taylor, Angela and Anthony Burke, Laura Hurtado, Alice M. L. Garcia, Jennifer and Paul Garzon, Michelle Hurtado, Brandon Storm, and Madison Storm. Manuel also had 3 great granddaughters, Emily, Haley, and Maddie Burke. He is also survived by his wife's brothers & their spouses, John & Pearl Coronado and Dr. Raul & Aurora Coronado of Pennsylvania. Being the patriarch of the Luna family and the last of his generation, Daddy will be truly missed by all his nieces and nephews of the Luna, Castro, Ponce, and Coronado families. May you rest in peace Daddy. We will always miss you dearly, but we rejoice in knowing that you and Mom are together again. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5-9pm with a 7pm Rosary to be recited. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion St. Houston, TX 77009 with internment to follow at Forest Park Westhimer Cemetery.
