Marcelyn Jean (Santopolo) Jackson

Marcelyn was born October 24, 1932 in Houston, TX to Santa and Elizabeth Santopolo. She grew up in The Heights and attended Incarnate Word Academy High School in Houston, TX. She married David Jackson in October of 1949 and they were married for 57 years before his passing in December 2007. Marcelyn was a bookkeeper for National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) for over 20 years.

Marcelyn was preceded in death by her husband, David Jackson, sister Sandra, and daughters Nanette Jackson and Gina Tyson. She is survived by her daughter Lansa Stevens (Fiancée Paul Phillips); brother Angelo Santopolo; grandchildren Cheryl (Sean) Stanko, Bryan Tyson, Sara (Brian) Thigpin, Jessica (Fiancée Matthew) Stevens; great-grandchildren Colton Stanko, Brooke Stanko, Madison Thigpin, Hudson Thigpin and Tate Thigpin. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Sodalis Assisted Living in College Station, EmpowerMe Wellness, Enhabit Hospice and Dr. Jacques Mamigonian at Baylor Scott & White.

A visitation with the family was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, Texas. A private burial was held on Wednesday, February 14 with the immediate family.
