Maria Pilar Angela De Souza

Maria was born on 2 October 1949, in Mombasa, Kenya. She was the beloved wife of Florence, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. A partnership marked by enduring love and devotion. Her life's journey spanned continents and generations. During her lifetime, she lived in Kenya, India, Nigeria, Spain, Canada, Washington State and Louisiana. She and Florence first called The Woodlands home in 1979, returning often throughout the years and finally settling permanently in 1991.

Maria was a devoted mother to her three children. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were constants in their lives. She also cherished her role as a grandmother to three grandchildren. Her family was the heart of her world and she found immense joy in watching them grow. Outside of her family, Maria enjoyed more than 25 years working at the local Marshalls store.

Maria loved to bake, especially during Christmas. She was a voracious reader, whose collection of books could start a library. She loved a good mystery show and always enjoyed a good laugh, often to the point of tears.

Maria was preceded in death by her father Moses, mother Bridget and grandson Thaddeus James.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Florence; children: Ashley Richard, Barbara Elaine (Michael) and Audrey Sharon; grandchildren: Alexander, Aria and Ronin; brothers: Anthony (Bernadette) and Joaquim (Mariette); sister-in-law Margaret (Quentin) and brother-in-law Clarence; along with her nieces and nephews.

Maria will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Whose presence brought warmth and strength to those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on August 28, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral mass will take place at Sts. Simon And Jude Catholic Parish, situated at 26777 Glen Loch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381, on August 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on August 29, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
