Maria “Elva” Uriarte was taken from us too soon on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1953 in Sinaola, Mexico, but made Houston her home. She is survived by her husband, Armando Uriarte; children Felipe (Adriana) Uriarte, Miriam (Paz) Muguerza, and Armando Jr. (Mandy) Uriarte; six beautiful granddaughters, Vivian, Madeline, Jacqueline, Evelyn, Miranda, and Ava; and five brothers, Martin, Joaquin, Rodolfo, Vicente, and Federico. Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Reginaldo & Ernestina Urias and sister, Amalia.
She was a wonderful, caring and passionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all who met her. She enjoyed singing and dancing and loved life to the fullest.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale, from 5:00pm – 9:00pm, with a Rosary from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. The funeral procession will start at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from Forest Park Lawndale, with a Mass beginning at 11:00am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Houston, with interment following.
