Marian L. Burrows

She was born in Houston, Texas on August 6, 1938. Marian graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. She married Robert Cates Burrows, Jr. on April 18, 1957. Marian was a homemaker, a tireless community volunteer, and a loving and giving mother and grandmother. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Humble and taught Sunday school there for many years. She served on the boards of the Humble Museum and Forest Cove Property Owners Association, and loved planning and participating in the Forest Cove 4th of July celebrations and all community events in Humble, Forest Cove and her church. She was also a member of Women of Rotary, and the Republican Women’s Club. She enjoyed working on political campaigns and local elections. Marian loved people, never met a stranger, had a great sense of humor, and was an entertaining and animated storyteller.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cates Burrows Jr., and her sons Robert Cates Burrows III, and Randall Lee Burrows. She is survived by her grandchildren Matthew Burrows and Madison Burrows; her daughter-in-law Susan Burrows; her cousins Rhonda Neumann and Gail Silverstein, and many more distant cousins.

Marian will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetary in Houston, on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11am. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Humble, Texas on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 3pm.
