Marilyn Adams of Spring, Texas, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 72. She was known for her sense of humor, devotion to her family, and her love of cooking and gardening. Marilyn loved the beach, always collecting seashells, and, in her later years, never found a thrift store she couldn’t enjoy for hours.
Born in Houston on October 3, 1952, to Joseph “Bubby” and Mary Marchese, Marilyn was the eldest of five siblings and a proud big sister to Raymond, Linda, Joseph, and Michael. She was lovingly doted upon by her aunt and godmother, Rosalie Kennedy, and uncle Jack Kennedy.
Marilyn attended Sam Houston High School, graduating in 1971. During her time there, she served as sergeant of bugles in the Sam Houston Houstonettes and was voted an “Eye Catcher” in her senior year. She was in the Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of her class.
After high school, she began her first career as a corporate secretary in the oil and gas industry. In 1999, she joined the Klein Independent School District, where she worked until her retirement in 2017.
She met the love of her life, William “Billy” Adams, on Thanksgiving Day in 1966. The two were married on July 17, 1976, and shared 49 years of joyful marriage.
Marilyn became a mother on April 10, 1980, with the birth of her son, Christopher Matthew Adams, and again on August 13, 1986, with the arrival of her daughter, Zoë Craig Adams. In recent years, she welcomed her beloved four-legged granddaughter, Stella, who brought her great joy and companionship. She was also godmother to three of her nephews—Jason Schulle, Gregory Marchese, and Andrew Marchese.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Marchese; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Simon and Lovada “Tootsie” Adams; her sister, Linda Marchese; her brother-in-law, Simon “Sy” Adams; and her godparents, Rosalie Kennedy and Louis Gregory.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Adams; her son, Christopher Adams; her daughter, Zoë Craig Adams; and by her brothers: Raymond (Mary Ellen) Marchese, Joseph (Lauren) Marchese, and Michael (Kim) Marchese. She is also survived by her uncle, Henry Gregory; her brother-in-law, Alfred Schulle; sisters-in-law Delores (Buddy) Bevers and Kristine Adams, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
