Marion Randolph Wells

Randy was born September 19, 1927 in Liberty, Mississippi to Homer Wells and Eleanor (Parker) Wells. One of three children, Randy’s siblings were older sisters, Homerline (Clower) Wells and Geralding (Roberts) Wells.

Randy’s life was influenced by his upbringing on a farm and his family’s strong Christian beliefs. Always showing kindness and faith was reflected in all of their children for their entire lives; all three siblings lived well into their 90’s. Randy graduated from Liberty High School in April 1945, then immediately joined the Navy. There he served in the Pacific Theatre.

After WWII, Randy returned to Mississippi and graduated from Southwest Junior College, Summit, Mississippi. In April of 1947, Randy completed his training through US Department of Commerce Civil Aeronautics for flight training and application for his pilots certificate.

Randy married Jo Louise in 1950 and together they raised 5 children.

Randy was the proud grandfather of ten and great grandfather or fourteen.

Randy and Jo resided in the Oak Meadows Neighborhood of Houston, Texas since 1951 and attended Forest Oaks Baptist Church.

Randy will be remembered by many of the kids in that area as their OFA baseball coach.

Randy will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A funeral service for Marion will be held Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
