I left a posting regarding a different Mark Scheffler, of San Antonio, who also recently passed, on this site by error.  I deeply apologize for the confusion and regret any pain that might have been caused by my mistake.  My sincerest sympathies to all of you.

RIP Mark. A great guy who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

I've visited Mark as a Chaplain employed by his work.  I've enjoyed little chats with him.  When I first met him a couple of years ago though,  he was reticent to speak with me.  So I cherished the connection we had made all the more.  This past Christmastime Mark pulled me aside to show me pictures of the decorative lighting he and his brothers put up in your Prestonwood Home.  He was beaming!!! The time he spent with his brothers designing and implementing the award winning lighting made him so happy.  So much so that I couldn't get his joy out of my mind. Mark is an exceptional man who was on a brave journey of Spiritual growth.  Of course you can guess, he never told me he was sick or had cancer - He is a BraveHeart!

Our condolences to the Sheffler Family from the Neblett family.  God bless you all during this difficult time.  May you find comfort in memories of Mark.

Our hearts are heavy with grief for all of the family.  We know how you loved this extraordinary young man, who bore the burden of his illness with such bravery and  grace.  As friends of this wonderful family, we spent some time with Mark and knew him and followed his story, often times through the pain in his grandmother's eyes each time Mark was in crisis and later, through his mom and his aunts, who loved him so much.  May you all find comfort in knowing that he is safe in the arms of the Lord.

My prayers are with the Sheffler family... When Mark was not saying something smart aleck to me or making fun of me, he would share such wonderful stories of his family. He was a wonderful friend and will be very missed!

I will always remember Mark as one of the sweetest guys I have ever known. He could always make you laugh and put you in a great mood. I have so many high school memories with him, and I will cherish those forever. My condolences go out to his wonderful family and friends.

 I did not know Mark but Brandon is married to my cousin, Brittany. Therefore I feel as we were family. My heart goes out to mom and dad and the family. What a brave young man you must have been to fight this disease all those years. I am praying for you, mom, dad and your siblings who will miss you but I know you are at peace.
