On May 8, 2019, Mark Lopez Thompson (aka “Marker”) made his voyage into the Force. Mark passed away peacefully in his Houston home with his mother and niece by his side.
Mark is survived by his daughter Faith, mother Bobbie, his brothers Alan, Rene, and Fabian, sisters Kelly, Melinda, and Marcia, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
At five months old, Mark joined the Thompson family and was a welcomed addition. His parents, Tom and Bobbie, felt privileged to raise him as their own.

Mark was a dedicated student and was inducted into the Honor Society while earning his Associates Degree. He had been in his senior year of college at Texas Tech. His hope after graduating was to work with people with special needs.
Family and friends gathered and celebrated Mark's life, during a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas.
For those who prefer to make a memorial donation, they can be made in his name to the Cancer Research Center or Citizens for Animal Protection.

I met Mark when he first moved to Lubbock. I was delivering for steak Express and I was dropping off at his hotel. While I was giving him his food he asked me a few questions about the town, we got to talking and I actually ended up coming back over that night just to hang out and chill with the guy. He had this friendly energy, and this fantastic way of making you feel listened to. Every starwars movie that came out he would buy my wife and I and even one of our friends tickets and we would all go together, 3-D everytime Haha. He spared no expense. We would have dinner at his home and he would come over for birthdays. I ended up joining the Military 2 years ago, I knew it would be a long time before I would see him again, but I never for a second thought that the last time I saw him, would be the last time I saw him. My wife just found this obituary and showed me. I'm not going to lie. I'm crying pretty hard, I wish I would have known, I wish I could have been at the funeral. But I know that I will see him again one day. And that will have to do for now.
God bless and condolences to his family and friends who were with him when he passed. I know he was loved. My prayers go out to y'all.

Mark was such a great guy. I'm so sad to be reading that he passed away. My heart is hurting today. He would come to my store and stay around 2 hours everytime he came by. We'd talk about his cat and of course Star Wars.. The last time I saw him was before he was leaving Lubbock to move back home with his mom. We would have long talks about his mom. He always said he worried about her losing him and how she would be without him. I always told him to be honest with her about how he was feeling and what he was thinking.. He was such a caring guy and I'm going to miss him so much. The last thing he told me when he left my store was " I love you Kris". Well my friend I love you more. Rest in peace and know you touched my heart and I will never forget you!
