

Marvin Glen Phillips was born April 22, 1944 and passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on December 13, 2020. Marvin was the youngest of eight children born to parents John Weaver Phillips and Ruby Virginia Sprayberry of Livingston, Texas.
He graduated from Livingston High School in 1962. Marvin would take his family on camping vacations in Texas, Arkansas and Missouri and then later would enjoy road trips to Florida, New Mexico and Colorado. Marvin enjoyed watching High School Football, car shows, old western movies and TV shows, such as Gunsmoke, Lawman and The Virginian.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice Pace Phillips, whom he married on October 31, 1964, his daughter Katrina and husband Eric Benson, grandson Philip and wife Stephanie Benson, granddaughter Elizabeth Benson and daughter Kerry Phillips, sister Lorene Meza, brother Sidney Phillips and sister-in-law Deane Phillips. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents John & Ruby, brother Marshall and wife Zelene Phillips, brother-in-law Joe Meza, sister Marie and husband Herman Kinard, brother Verdis Phillips, sister Mildred and husband Doyle Wood, sister-in-law Anne Phillips and sister Mary Jo and husband Billy Davis.
There will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift in Marvin’s memory to “The American Lung Association” or the charity of your choice.
