Mary Clarke Mackenzie, age 67, died peacefully on October 29, 2013. She was born in Houston and lived there most of her adult life. Mary enjoyed many activities, her favorites being singing around the piano and playing cards. She loved her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father, John Brown Mackenzie, in 1986 and her mother, Mary Clarke Jarvis Mackenzie, in 2005. She is survived by her brother Jack Mackenzie of Brenham, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Olin Shivers of Tampa, Florida; two nieces, Mackenzie Clarke Shivers of New York, New York and Sarah Wells Shivers Ford (James) of Santa Barbara, California; aunt and uncle Bondu and Dick Anderson of Houston; aunt Jean Bell of San Antonio, Texas; and many cousins. The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Park Manor CyFair and Dr. Sheriev Boctor for their care and support.
A private graveside service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 3131 Eastside Street, Houston, Texas 77098 or a charity of your choice.
