Mary Louise, age 88, was called home to the Lord on March 22, 2013. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 13, 1924, to John H. Barker and Rachel Barker. Mary Louise is survived by her loving sons, Anthony Meyer and his wife Cathy, and Cliff Meyer. She is also survived by four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. At five years of age, Mary Louise came to Houston with her family where she eventually became a Gaucho on the San Jacinto High School Drill Team and then went on to Southwestern University. Mary Louise’s true calling was that of a mother. She raised three sons as a single mother for most of their formative years. She taught them her legacy of family, faith, education, and work ethic that continues today. She also enjoyed floating the Comal River with her husband, Ralph, where they owned property. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023 on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
