Maxine Anderson was born January 14, 1931 in Denison, Texas to Henry and Irene Neugent. That union produced a total of four children of which she was the baby. The older boys were: Henry, Jr. Willie and Gilford. She went to school and was raised in Marshall, Texas where she spent most of her young adult life. Later in life she moved to Amarillo, Texas where she met Cornelius Arthur Turner. To that union, she bore four daughters: Vera Jetuan Greene (Garland), Sharyon Louise Howard, Cornelia Audrey Mayo, and Jeanette Leigh Frelix (Charles). She met and married Robert Ed Anderson, October 17, 1963. To that union she bore her only son Henry McNeil Anderson and her baby daughter Willia Deanna Rena Anderson-Blair. Robert brought to that union three children from a previous marriage: Robert, Ruby and Larry. Maxine was a people person and loved helping anyone she could. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were all very special and in her sight could do no wrong against 'Grandma'. Now here is how they (her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildre) all fared. Vera(4) Prentiss (preceded her in death in 1988), Monica (Brock & Mia), Kevin (0), Makesha (Kimetria, Devetria & Damecia); Sharyon(2) Stanley (Makayla & Eli), Robyn (Xanthia); Audrey(2) Alicia (Deontae & Donavan), Krystal (0); Jeanette(2) Kristofer (0), Kaycee (Kayleigh, Samuel & Kyra); Henry(0); Denna(4) Whitney (Rodney & Reeko) Devin (A'mari, Sereniti & Caedynn) Prentiss (0), Martise (Mekhi, Collin & Dominic). She has one god-son: Trey; and three god-daughters: Cherilyn (Pinky) Harris, Gwendolyn Sanders & Martisha Renee Hubert; she has many nieces & nephews in Houston and Marshall Texas who she loved as well. Maxine's parents, brothers, husbands and one grand son all preceded her in death. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends all are here to cherish her memory and will miss her very much. Maxine's relationship with Jesus Christ allowed her to have a spirit that shared love all around. Drs. Gusta and Theola Booker were two of her favorite people in this world and she loved to cook anything for them to eat they requested, especially 'cornbread' and 'sweet potato pie.' We are aware that many of you have played a part in the life of our mother and many whose names we've probably missed. With that being said, we want you to know that had Maxine written this herself, we're sure she probably wouldn't have missed a soul. We know she loved each and every one of you who have been special in her heart over the years. Please note that as her family, we want to thank you for your special effort in helping us to remember her on this day. She loved much and she now is saying, "Let me go!"
