

Miguel “Mike” Medrano, 77, of Houston, Texas passed away on November 11, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1938 in Sugarland, Texas to Santos and Jovita Medrano. Mike left school early and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in which he served two terms in Oceanside, CA at Camp Pendleton. After his service to our country, Mike became a Longshoreman until he retired from the Port. In his free time Mike enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. Mike also liked watching sports, listening to oldies music and watching military and western films. He is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Jovita Medrano and brother Rito Llamas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Rina Medrano; Children: Michael Medrano, Louis Medrano, Diane Medrano-Lucero, Annette Medrano, Mark Medrano, Barbara, Veronica, Robert Medrano, Crystal Medrano and Mike Medrano as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also left behind are his siblings Francisco Medrano, Carlos Medrano, Jim Medrano and Victoria Spencer as well as numerous nieces and nephews and countless other family members and friends. A visitation will be held in the Grand Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 4-9 PM with a rosary service taking place at 6 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 7539 Ave K in Houston. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery immediately following the mass.
