

Miles Edward Sullivan was born to Martin Edward Sullivan and Marguerite Frances Scannell on November 14, 1932 in El Paso, Texas. He passed away peacefully, at the age of 92, on November 27, 2024 in the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas after a short illness on.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley, sister-in-law Gay Sullivan, niece Karen Russell (Sullivan) and nephew Jim Sullivan.
Miles is survived by his sister Betty Phillips (Sullivan) and Bruce, of San Antonio, Texas, former wife and friend Lois Sullivan, son Michael and wife Christine, daughters Kathleen Sullivan, daughter Jennie Zarasvand (Sullivan) and Jerry, son Alan and wife Debra, grandchildren, Mariam Alsaad (Zarasvand) and husband Waddah, Sohrab Zarasvand, Amy O’ Sullivan Webb and Layne, Scott O’Sullivan, Bridget Beachley (Sullivan), Danial Sullivan, and Sean Sullivan, great grandchildren, Solomon and Gabriel Alsaad, Victoria Beachley, Landon and Evelynn Sullivan, nieces Suzanne Curtin (Phillips), Sharalyn Phillips, Sandra Gilboe (Phillips) and grand nephews.
Miles grew up in Sanderson, Texas, a booming rail town. He joined the Navy and served during the Korean War 1951-1955. After serving in the Navy, Miles attended the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Since leaving the Military he has been a loyal member of the American Legion, Boy Scout leader, he enjoyed playing the guitar, harmonica and singing, collecting western wear and rodeo belt buckles. Miles had various jobs including Police Officer from 1962-1964, before becoming a High School Business Teacher at Meridian Community School, Daykin, Nebraska from 1964–1977. Miles is remembered fondly for his typing instruction….fff space jjj…, as the video photographer for Meridian’s sports programs and theatrical events, advisor for prom decorations and setup and advisor for School Annual. Miles managed Holiday Station Stores in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1978-1995. Miles returned home to Texas in 2012 to enjoy his retirement years.
Miles was a kind soul with very few wants in life and is dearly missed. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service at the Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors will be held in early 2025. Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial is assisting with arrangements.
