Milford Austin Liggett, age 90, passed away on June 29, 2014 in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 31, 1923 in Collegeport, Texas to Lester E. and Agnes E. Liggett. Milford graduated from high school in Blessing, Texas in 1940, and continued on to attend college at Texas A&I College, which is now Texas A&M University at Kingsville. During his time in college, in the year 1942, after Pearl Harbor, he was enlisted to the U.S. Army Air Corps. Milford served his country, flying B-24s, until February 1946. After returning from the military he became employed with Sears Roebuck & Company. He was employed there from 1947 to 1978. Milford retired from Sears Roebuck as a Store Manager, and enjoyed the retired life. He spent his days golfing, playing with friends, and traveling.
Milford married Rose Parten on April 15, 1944 and they spent 70 wonderful years of marriage together. She is left behind to cherish his memory. Milford is also survived by his daughter, Janice R. Liggett and son, Keith W. Liggett. The family will receive friends on July 3, 2014 at 1pm, and a graveside service will be held immediately following. All services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale.
