Patricia Joan Seals

Patricia Joan Seals went home to be with her Lord & Savior on March 3, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born Patricia Joan Sellers in Little Rock, AR on August 13, 1938. She later moved with her family to Texas, during her high school years. She was married in 1958 to Ernest Ray Seals & had one daughter, Laura. Patricia worked for many years in the accounting field; first with Gordon Jewelers Corp., then she went to work for Foleys, and later Macys Dept. Stores in the same capacity. She was an avid reader from childhood and was rarely seen without a book in her hand. Fiercely independent and no nonsense, she lived her life on her own terms. She was a private woman, but touched just about everyone she came in contact with through her dry wit & sly sense of humor. As per her wishes, she will not have a service, just a private burial.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Seals Howitt & husband Mark Albert Howitt; sisters: Dovie Dawson & husband Glen Dawson of Kilgore, TX, Peggy Chapman of Azle, TX & brother, Larry Devazier; one grandson, two step-grandsons, one great-granddaughter & numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Beatrice J. Gafford & stepfather, Zack Gafford. In lieu of flowers to the family, it is requested that donations be made to Houston Hospice at 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX 77030. She spent her final days there and was treated with such loving care & dignity. Her daughter would like to express her upmost gratitude to this wonderful facility.
