

Patrick Wayne Clemons Sr. was born in Houston, TX on June 18, 1951 to John and Bertha Clemons. He attended Bruce Elementary, E.O Smith and Phillis Wheatley High School. Patrick was a proud graduate of Phillis Wheatley Wildcats in 1969. He attended Texas Southern University after graduating for a year. Patrick was the first family member to attend college. He was baptized at an early age at Second Mount Olive and sang in the youth choir. He later rededicated his life to the Lord and was an active member of the First Macedonia Church under the leadership of his nephew Dr. Eddie R Lewis Jr. Patrick served on the Custodial Ministry and Parking Lot Ministry. Patrick Clemons met Hilda Leassear while attending Phillis Wheatley. They later married on May 25, 1973. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Ghia Leassear, Patrick Clemons Jr. and Lowell Clemons. Patrick joined the United States Army 1980 and served his country while stationed in Germany until 1984. Upon his return to the States, Patrick lived a very active life spending time with family and friends. He loved to dress to impress. He was the life of the party. In 1991 Patrick met Diana Harris. They were later married April 18, 1992 and enjoyed a wonderful life as a blended family. Diana went home to be with the Lord April 4, 2003. Patrick was the proud grandfather of six beautiful grandchildren; Mhia, Anne Marie, Kaelei, Jaylin, Jaelon and Layla. Patrick was preceded in death by his Mother Bertha Clemons, his Father John Clemons, three brothers Charles Taylor, Eddie Lewis Sr, Edwin Taylor and his wife Diana Harris Clemons. He leaves to cherish his memories four siblings John Clemons Jr, Cheryl Clemons, Andrea Clemons and Reginald Clemons. Three children Patrick Clemons Jr, Lowell Clemons and Ghia Leassear. Six grandchildren Mhia, Anne Marie, Kaelei, Jaylin, Jaelon and Layla. Two Aunts Dorothy Henderson(85) and Francis Taylor(73), Fifteen nieces & nephews, twelve great nieces & nephews and a host of family and friends.Patrick was well known in the 5th Ward area where he grew up in " the bottom" and "Vinegar Village". Some called him "Pretty Boy Floyd" and " The Ladies Man". He loved baseball as a child and continued to be a loyal Astros fan until his death. He loved watching/ listening to all types of sports.
