

Percy Othello Brown Jr entered Heaven’s gates on June 23, 2018. He was born April 12, 1952 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1971. He worked at Hughes Tools for over 20 years, and he later worked for the Houston Independent School District at Lamar Fleming where he was a plant operater for over 30 years until he retired in 2016. He also coached the girls basketball team at Lamar Fleming. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and barbecuing in his spare time. Percy’s mother Lorene Marie Brown and father Percy Brown proceeded him in death. He is currently married to Anna Cantu-Brown and he has a stepson Robert Cantu III. He was married to Rose Mary Brown for 20 years who proceeded him in death and they had five children Tamara Brown, Lathea Brown-Hughes and a son-in-law Robert Hughes, Peter Brown (deceased 2007) Gerrick Brown and Gracey Brown. He has six grandchildren Aspen Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Blake Hughes, Christopher Hughes, Jyden Dorsey and Jace Wilson who enjoyed spending time with “PoPo”.Percy has a sister Temenia Baxter and a brother-in-law Solomon Baxter that resides in Dallas, Texas. His niece Kelsey Baxter resides in Dallas, Texas, and his nephew Christopher Baxter resides in Austin, Texas. He also has a brother Ricky Brown that resides in Houston, Texas along with his son Justin Brown and his two daughters Victoria and Tandra Brown. His memory is cherished by his uncle Burl Garnett Jr. of Seattle, Washington and his aunt Bridgette Johnson and her husband Leroy who resides in Louisiana. He leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who loved him.
