

Celebrating the life of Phyllis T. Wunsche, born on September 23, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Louis Serna and Maria Lozano. At a young age Phyllis and her 11 siblings moved to Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Houston and Sam Houston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Master’s in Criminology. After graduation she continued her career with the Houston Police department and soared through the ranks. After serving in the department for 23 years she retired as Assistant Chief. While enjoying retirement she was involved in many charitable organizations. Phyllis’ most favorite was working with the Hand of the Nino, which involved orphanages in Mexico. She found peace and happiness through caring for others.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her father, Louis Serna; mother, Maria Lozano; husbands, Richard Aranza, Lester Wunsche and her 11 siblings.
She is survived by her husband Jose Weber; grandson, Ray De La Rosa; daughters, Sylvia, Danielle, Elizabeth, Julie; son, Keith; granddaughter, Felicia Mcray, Darlene Manning; great-granddaughter, Mikyla Mcray; nephew, Robert Llyod; niece, Phyllis Garcia Ingram; 10 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids, The Wunsche Family, The Serna Family, The Weber Family, and special friends, The YaYa’s, Shelly, and her Police Family.
Phyllis was truly a servant of God and believed that you could overcome anything if you kept your faith. She will be missed by all who knew her and will be remembered for being passionate, caring, unique, intelligent and loving.
