Raul Gaitan was born in Laredo, TX in 1947. He was a proud man and gave his all in every aspect of his life. Husband, father, Marine, combat veteran, and friend are a few words that many people may remember him by.
Houston, TX was his home for 60 years. Raul went to Jefferson Davis High School in the North side of Houston and volunteered with the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduating to serve in Vietnam with the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines - 1st Marine Division in 1966-67 and remained in the USMC and was honorably discharged in 1968.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, their 3 children Michael Anthony Gaitan and his wife Fidela Gaitan, grandchildren Stephanie and Damian Gaitan, daughter Gina Renee Gaitan, and Nicholas Andre Gaitan. He is also survived by his sister Hilda Gaitan and his brother George Gaitan and his family. He is preceded in death by his youngest brother, Hector Gaitan and his parents. His great presence, giving spirit, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
