

Raymond served his country proudly and honorable on the Naval destroyer, USS Leonard F. Mason during the Korean Crisis. He was married for 46 years to his loving wife Josephine who preceded him in death 13 years ago. He was retired from Dee Brass Foundry, in Houston, as a maintenance foreman. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Lake Livingston to spend their golden years together.
He loved living on the lake where he fished often and fervently kept everyone informed of the latest trophies caught and always fluctuating lake conditions. Hunting was also a passion of his, especially harassing and heckling his closest buddies at the deer lease.
Raymond is the youngest of 4 children, and was preceded in death by parents Albert and Anna; his sister, Ann; and brothers, Charles James (CJ) and Albert John (AJ).
He is survived by son Rick Habernal and wife Susan, daughters Kim Newbury and husband Dale, Sherry Namken and husband Bobby.
Grandchildren: Jason Habernal and wife Aline, Matthew Newbury, Alicia Habernal, Leslie Zuniga and husband Jay, and Deidra Harvey
Great-Grandchildren: Nate, Cayden, and Colton Zuniga, and “Baby” Habernal, due in September, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jason Habernal, Matthew Newbury, Michael, Gary and Ronnie Lucario, Randy Hale and Craig Higgins.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A Reception will follow in the Hospitality Room of Earthman Resthaven.
