R.C. Vaughn, Jr,

Reverend R.C Vaughn Jr. affectionately called “Ricky” was born on December 11, 1957 in Houston Texas to the late R.C Vaughn Sr. and Dorothy Mae Horton. R.C. was a 1976 graduate of MB Smiley High School where he faithfully served as a basketball trainer. In 1978 Ricky was blessed with his first son Raymond Collins. In 1985 R.C. he was united in matrimony to Ms Veda Cavitt and to this union he was blessed with his daughter Shamika and son Ivan Vaughn. R.C. was a very hardworking man and a jack of all trades, he was a welder for many years, a caretaker , and was also well known as a “handyman” who assisted everyone in his neighborhood. Ricky was a very proud father. He loved his children and loved spending time with his grandchildren. R.C. accepted Christ in his early thirties, and confessed his calling to the ministry. R.C loved the Lord and spending time reading the bible. In 2010 Rev. R.C united with The Greater New Mercy MBC under the leadership of his son Pastor Raymond Collins. R. C.’s intense bible conversations and infectious laughter will be truly missed. R.C. peacefully departed this life to eternal rest on Thursday July 7, 2016 with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his father R.C. Vaughn Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving children, son Raymond Collins (Damira), daughter, Shamika Vaughn, and son, Ivan Vaughn; mother, Dorothy Mae Horton, his brother Eddie Bailey (Doretha), sister, Gloria Bailey-Davis, brothers, Harold Vaughn, and Edgar Anthony Vaughn, sister Sheba Grisby (Larry), seven grandchildren; Mazi, Desmond, Destani, M’Kayla, Serenity, Damarion, Raylin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
