Reginald Keith Batiste

A Time To Be Born Reginald Keith Batiste was born on May 1, 1957 in Houston, Texas to Bertman Fairfax and Ella Mae Batiste. A Time For Reverence to God Reginald confessed Christ as his Savior early in life and became a member of Hill Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Abe Goff. His church affliliations included faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir, Male Choir and Brotherhood. A Time To Learn Reginald attended Fairchild Elementary School, Crispus Attucks Jr. High and Abraham Lincoln Senior High School graduating in 1977. A Time To Work Reginald's first major job was serving as a butcher in the neighborhood store-Buyrite Food Store in 4th Ward, Texas. He became very well known throughout the community. He later became employed with the City of Houston Public Works and Engineering Department. He remained an employee of the City of Houston until his health failed. A Time For Marriage In January, 1999, Reginald met the love of his life-Jakie Johnson and they were united in marriage, August 2001. Reginald and Jackie spent 14 years loving and nourishing their relationship and marriage. A Time To Die Reginald departed his life on Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was preceeded in death by one son-Reginald Keith Batiste, Jr., his father-Bertman Fairfax, paternal and maternal grandparents, two aunts, three uncles. A Time To Mourn Loving memories of Reginald will be long cherished by his wife, family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing a loving , devoted and faithful wife-Jakie Batiste, his mother-Ella Mae Bridges, two brothers-James Haywood(Ann Denise) and Lee Turner, one sister-Teketha Turner, aunts and uncles-Rose Chenier, Clara Bell (Otis), Sylvia Jones (Archie), Elizabeth Edwards, Gilda Evans, Ida brown, Barbara Price (Delbert), all of Houston, Texas, Galia and Melinda Jolivette, Joshua Batiste, all of Opelousas, LA, one goddaughter-Vonetta Evans, one godson-Christian Hubert, two devoted godparents-Dea. and Sis. D.X.C. Knotts and one best friend-Emmitt Broadnax and a host of relatives and friends.
