Robbie Randle Jenkins

Robbie Aleace Randle Jenkins was born the sixth child of fourteen children to Rev. Robert and Clara Randle on August 7, 1932 in Booth Texas. She graduated from A. W. Jackson School in Rosenberg, Texas in 1950. She graduated from Franklin Beauty School in Houston, Texas as a licensed cosmetologist. In 1952, Robbie married the love of her life Govnor Holly Jenkins, Jr. To this union was born four lovely and devoted children: Patricia D. Davis, Reginald L. Jenkins, Vernita Jenkins Barnes, and Rosalyn Schoffield. Robbie Randle Jenkins accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of her father Rev. Robert Randle at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  During her youth, she was very active in a singing group "The Randlettes" with her sisters Gladys, Thelma, Ruth, and Octaia. She later united with Fourth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of E. Stanley Branch and Greater St. Matthews under the leadership of Rev. Gusta Booker. In 1982, she reunited with Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully served as Mother of the Church, Sunday School Superintendent, Deaconess, and member of the Women's Missionary Society until her death. Robbie Randle Jenkins hobbies included traveling, gardening, baking, sewing and crafts, quilting, and walking with her neighbors in the "Senior Steppers." She attended bible studies, community and civic events at Lily Grove Baptist Church, Harbach-Ripley Neighborhood Center on Northdale and Sunnyside Community Center on Bellfort in Houston, Texas. Robbie Randle Jenkins was preceded in death by: her parents Rev. Robert and Clara Randle; her husband Govnor H. Jenkins, Jr.; her sister Gladys Shanks; her brothers George, Albert, Raymond, and Melvin Randle; and son-in-law Rev. Rickey Davis. Robbie Randle Jenkins leaves to cherish her memories: four children Patricia Davis, Reginald (Jacqueline) Jenkins, Vernita Jenkins Barnes, and Rosalyn (Barry) Schoffield; Grandchildren- Alicia, Ericka, Helana (Robert), Aaron (Tyneesha), Kyle (Vanessa), Oliver (Brianna), Malcolm, Omar (Sable), Raushanah, Jamaal (Queeneather), Ella, and Otis Raydale; Great Grandkids- Zoe, Jayce, Jerimiah, Madilynn, Quintana, Tamera, Q'Veon, Q'Darius, Carsen, Christian, Chasity, Sydnee, Madilynn, and Jaylon. Special son- Herbert L. Davis and special daughter- Stacy A. Randle. Her sisters: Thelma Davis, Ruth (James) Dancer, and Octavia Hodge. Her brothers: Edmond (Ester) Randle, Leon (Dolly) Randle, Weston Randle, Henry (Ernestine) Randle, and Thomas (Yvonne) Randle. Her lifelong and special persons: Emma Reece, Dorothy McHenry, Annie Bell Thigpen, Barbara Hayes, Lissie Courtney, Beulah Johnson, Jewel Simpson, Pearl Findley, Marie Pittman, Gracie Pittman, and Dinah Palmer.
