Robert "Bob" Holland Sr., 82, a native Houstonian, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 with family at his bedside in Austin, Texas. Bob is survived by his living wife Shirley Holland; daughters Lisa Miller and her husband Bill Miller and their daughter Rachel of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Valerie Sapp and her husband Jeremy Sapp and their son Jaxon Sapp of Austin, Texas; and his son, Robert Holland Jr., wife Erika and their sons Robert Holland III and Marshall Holland of Austin, Texas.
Preceding Mr. Holland in death, were his parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clovis Holland and his brother, Billye J. Holland. After serving in the US Army, Mr. Holland was in the insurance business before starting Holland Chemical Company which supported his family for 47 years.
Bob's favorite pastimes were spending time with friends and family at his Surfside beach house. He was also the co-founder of "The Moosehead Smokers" championship BBQ cook off team. He will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1st, 2015 at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 12535 Perthshire Rd., Houston, TX. Graveside services to follow at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX.
