Robert McGlynn

Bob called many places home in his life. Born in Pennsylvania, he and his family moved to Russell, MA when he was young. He spent decades in Massachusetts raising a family with his first wife, Barbara, prior to moving around for work, from St. Louis all the way to Guam. He finally settled in Houston, TX in 1984, where he quickly met his darling Irene.

Bob had many passions, the greatest of which was his family. His happiest times were when he was surrounded by his wife, children, and especially his grandbabies. He loved genealogy and meeting even the most extended members of his family. From a young age, Bob enjoyed planes and flying. So much so, that he got his pilot's license and flew recreationally for many years. He was also an avid golfer. When he could no longer physically golf, he played the Tiger Woods video game. He loved to garden and watch things grow, especially tomatoes. He also loved to build things and come up with creative solutions for any situation he faced. There wasn't a challenge he wouldn't take on. He loved to laugh and tell jokes with the straightest face. His loss is felt by all who crossed his path. We'll miss you, Papa.

He is preceded in death by his mother Anna Middleton McGlynn and father Patrick McGlynn; son David McGlynn; siblings John McGlynn, Sharon McGlynn, James McGlynn and Joan Landry.

He leaves his loving wife of 32 years, Irene McGlynn; children, Kim Mattingly and husband Keith, Steve McGlynn and wife Karen, Peter McGlynn and wife Cheryl, Stephanie Fantasia and husband Peter, Amy Filer and husband Jamison, Stephen Burgess and wife Emmylou, Sara Maciel and husband Steven; grandchildren Christopher McGlynn and wife Ruthy, Bethanie Brenek and husband Jay, Blake McGlynn, Shannon McGlynn, Angelina Fantasia, Nicolas Fantasia, Matthew Burgess, Micah Tomic, Hailey Filer, Mason Filer, Layton Filer, Alyssa Miranda, Philip Burgess, Thomas Burgess, Stella Burgess, Maddox Maciel; great-grandchildren Hailey McGlynn, CJ McGlynn, Emma McGlynn, Harper Brenek, Brooklyn Brenek; siblings Patrick McGlynn, Mary Sullivan, Kathy McGlynn and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
