Rosalie Ann DeMent (Prevost / Fullerton), was born in St. Louis, MO on December 31, 1937, as an only child. She was called home on December 19, 2023, in Houston Texas just 12 days before her 86th birthday.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, William H. DeMent and Agnes M. (Derner) DeMent, as well as her first husband, Ormond Wendell Prevost and her daughter, Catherine Ann (Prevost) Butchee and her youngest son, William Wendell Prevost. Rosalie is survived by her husband, David Leo Fullerton, her sons Michael Prevost and Stephen Prevost, grandchildren Cameron Prevost and Kristin Prevost, Diedre Leigh (Lawson) Ellis and her husband Paul Ellis and two children Ava and Aria Ellis and her other granddaughter Hannah Nicole (Butchee) Cavasos and her husband Jaycob and son Maxwell Paul.
A lifelong resident of Houston, Texas, Rosalie was enthusiastic about her family and her faith. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters for years serving others and was the central figure in bringing the family together for special occasions.
Cancer took her first husband in 1974 and left her with four children from ages 10 to 15. It was about 2 years later she remarried to a wonderful man named David Fullerton. He brought boats and old car restoration and fishing and a love to the family that can only be described as “Heaven Sent.” Rosalie and David were inseparable and loved to travel to Louisiana for recreation, go boating and take restored vehicles to car shows where they won multiple awards.
Rosalie worked for National Oilwell Varco for over 25 years and made many friends over the years. Her family loved her cooking. From gumbos to creoles to homemade pralines and stuffings, she was second to none in the kitchen. She was a very tenacious person. Later in life she had to have two hips replaced, a knee replaced, she overcame breast cancer and through it all was always trying to serve and look after the needs of others.
When her daughter passed away in 2009, Rosalie stepped right in to serve as a mom for both of her granddaughters. Rosalie was a blessing to everyone who knew her. The world lost one of the great ones on December 19th, but she did not belong to this world. She will forever remain in the hearts and souls of all who loved her.
