

ROSE M. GRIZZAFFI, age 96, of Houston has gone to Heaven to be with the Lord and her husband Luke D. Grizzaffi. Rose was a loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind four children; Rose Theresa married to Charles Campise, Mary Ann married to the late Earl Vaculik, Cecilia married to Mike Warth and Frank J. Grizzaffi married to Bernadette. Rose has nine grandsons, two granddaughters and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Frank Trombatore and wife Catherine, along with Sister-in-laws Virginia, Josephine and Bernadine Grizzaffi and Angelina Joslin and husband Rex. She was happiest when she was camping at Garner State Park, gardening or enjoying time spent with her family. She had joy sharing her “green thumb” at Assumption Church where she planted and maintained the flower gardens for many years. She was a member of the Harvest Years Club at Assumption. Rose was also extremely proud of her Sicilian heritage and was an active member of The Ladies of Sacred Heart and Maria Del Balzo. She passed her love of cooking traditional Sicilian dishes and cookies to her family and participated in numerous St. Joseph Altars. She was well known for her faccia de vecchia. She is loved with all our hearts and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Charles, Sal and John Campise, Luke Grizzaffi, Bryan and Curt Vaculik, Stephen, David and Matthew Warth. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale Street in Houston on June 25, beginning at 6 pm followed by the Rosary at 7:30 led by the Ladies of Sacred Heart. Visitation will also be held at 9 am on June 26 prior to the Mass of Christian burial at 10. Both will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Roselane in Houston with the Reverend Albert Zanatta presiding. This will be followed by lunch then the funeral procession to the Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery for the Rite of Committal at 1:30 pm.
