

Rosemary Ann Keys, age 72 passed away peacefully at home on November 8 surrounded by her family. Rosemary was born January 27, 1949 to Frank and Lena Makus of Houston, TX. She met her husband and fellow Heights resident Darwin Keys at St. Pius High School. They married in 1969 and raised two sons. Rosemary and Darwin were married 52 years. Cooking, entertaining family and friends, watching her sons perform music, caring for her pets and feeding wild birds brought her great joy. Rosemary’s greatest honor was being a grandmother to her two grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, sister and all-around remarkable person. Rosemary always attended Mass on Sunday and her Catholic faith was the source of her strength and kindness.
Rosemary is survived by her husband Darwin Keys Sr, son Darwin Jr and wife Melissa, son David and wife Lauren, grandchildren Hunter and Lucy, sister Marilyn Lovell, niece Mary Lovell-Cadena and nephew TJ. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lena Makus and In-laws Lemoine and Marie Keys.
Visitation with the family was held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, where a Vigil Service began at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Rd. in Houston, Texas, with Reverend Lawrence W. Jozwiak, celebrant. The Rite of Committal followed at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
