Ross Howard Short

Ross Howard Short was born on November 11, 1956 and passed away on February 25, 2017 at the age of 60. Born to Phillips Henry “Red” and Retha Short, Ross began living in Houston and moved later to Needville. Ross was a loving father to three sons; Seth-Ross Sterling Short, Treavor Phillips Short, and Trystan Frank Short. Ross loved his job as a machinist/ shop foreman working 35 years at Kirksey machine. Ross also loved fishing, camping, hunting, watching car races, monster trucks, listening to rock music, and raising hell. Ross was a rough sounding man’s man but had a sweet, tender, and good heart. Ross was preceded in death by his sister Zillah Kathryn Short Wilmore of Houston TX. Ross is survived by his three sons of Needville, TX; His brother- in- law John Wilmore of Houston TX; Two nephews Spencer Wilmore of Ft. Worth, TX and Adam Wilmore of Grapevine, TX; Best Friends of many years Bryan and Janice Finney of Dickinson, TX; and many other loving family and friends.

Ross’ visitation will be held on March 3, 2017 at 1pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in the Grand Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 2pm in the Grand Chapel followed by burial in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to the memorial fund set on his sons’ behalf. Donations can be made to the Ross Short Memorial Fund at any Texas Citizens Bank location.
