Sandra Kay McGuinn

After graduating from Jeff Davis High School in 1964, she met her husband David McGuinn at Garner State Park, and they were married on July 31, 1965. For many years she was a full-time mom, raising two children and later worked as a registrar and administrative secretary for the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. After 30 years of service, she retired in 2005.

Kay loved to spend time with her family, cooking her most beloved recipes. She enjoyed spending time reading, traveling and loving her pets. Her family will continue to pass on her legacies to future generations.

Sandra “Kay” is the last surviving child in her family and was preceded in death by her parents, Wilda and Bim Timm, her two brothers, Robert and Richard Pointer and her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Joe Mayfield and nephew, Michael Mayfield. She is survived by her husband, David McGuinn, and children, son Dale McGuinn and wife Karen, and daughter Tracy Atkinson. She is also survived by her greatest pride and joys, her three grandchildren, Joseph McGuinn, Anthony McGuinn, and Kaylyn Atkinson. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service and reception will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Heights Funeral Home chapel at 1317 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77008.
