Sarah Jane Hightower, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was a long time active member of Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg. Preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Lawrence Hightower, Sr.; sons, Donald Beverley, Michael Hightower, Sr., and Dwayne Hightower, Sr.; grandsons, Patrick Hightower, Jr., Justin Hightower, and Dwayne Hightower, Jr. She is survived by sons, Paul Hightower and wife Avis, Larry Hightower and wife Monette, and Patrick Hightower and wife Jill; daughter, Annis J. Hobratschk; daughters-in-law, Sue Hightower, and Sandra Hightower; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will then be at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
