

Shirley Ann Russell; On Christmas Day , December 25, 2019 She answered the call to the voice of God to "come, find rest for your soul." While Shirley is no longer with us here on earth, her voice still echoes in our memories, her smile will warm you through stories told and retold, her Love will touch you in spirit every day, and your life will treasure every memory in many beautiful ways.
Shirley Ann Spicer began life’s journey On July 7, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Na-thaniel and Elnora Spicer, whom they named Shirley Ann Spicer. She was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at a young age. She was baptized in the faith at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. As she matured in her faith walk she served faithfully in the Church in many departments; as a member of the Sunday Church School, Bible Study, Women’s Ministry, Trustee Board and Music Ministry Choir. Were she was Pianist and the Assistant Minister of music.
Shirley Ann Spicer received her education from Blackshear Elementary School, Ryan Middle School and The Jack Yates Senior High School all of Houston, Texas. Her secondary education include study at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas and Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas where she received her Bachelors of Education and University of Clear Lake where she received her Mas-ters of Education. She was initiated into the Gamma Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated at Texas Southern University on April 19, 1969. On April 19, 2019 She attained Golden Soror 50 years membership. Shirley was also a member of Jack N Jill of America Incorporated South Belt Chapter where she was a Char-ter Member. She was employed as an educator in the Houston Independent School District and also the Pasadena Independent School Districts She Met and Married Earl Russell, to this union was born a beautiful baby girl, Christina. the love of her life.
Shirley Ann leaves to cherish sweet, sweet memories the love of her life and fiancè, Johnny Eason Sr., whom she shared many years of happiness and devotion with. They enjoyed and treasured each other as a gift of God. Enjoyed worshiping together, dinner dates, friends and family gatherings. He loved her and she loved him, with anticipation of one day being married.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving parents, Nathaniel and Elnora Spicer, and a brother, Ronald Polk.
Shirley leaves behind a lifetime of loving memories to her one loving Daughter, Christina Gilliam, Granddaughter, Krishelle Russell, Grandson, Brett Gilliam and Great Grandson, Mason Price, one brother, John Moore, one Aunt, Mamie Spiller and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
