Sophia Damian

Sophia was born to Trinidad Garcia and Brigida Garcia, October 15th 1947, in Pasadena, Texas. She married Jose Damian on May 1st 1966, and they lived together in South Houston, Texas. Together they raised 3 children.

She is survived by: Jose Damian Sr. (Spouse), Alfredo Damian (son), Richard & Jessica Damian (Son and Spouse), Jose Damian Jr. (son) and John Anthony Damian & Amber Verchiens (grandson and Spouse). Her sisters Carolyn Garcia and Lupe Silva. She also leaves to cherish her memory Ashley Hernandez (Granddaughter) Desiree Damian (Granddaughter), Emily Damian (Granddaughter), Alyssa Damian (Granddaughter), Sophia Damian (Granddaughter), Ariyana Damian (Great Granddaughter) Christian Damian (Great Grandson),

She was preceded in death by Brigida Garcia, (Mother), Trinidad Garcia, (Father), Jose Garcia, (Brother), Ruben Garcia, (Brother) Juan Garcia, (Brother), Mary Lou Garcia, (Sister) and Olivia Garcia, (Sister).

Sophia worked as a Sales Associate for Palais Royal for many years until she retired. She then worked at Jessup Elementary in the school cafeteria for 5 more years until she retired again. She enjoyed movies and listening to music. She loved spending time with her family and dancing. Her secret hobby was making photo albums of her family. She enjoyed the times she spent with them and cherished the many memories they made. She was a devoted catholic and attended San Augustine Church and later San Juan Diego Church in Pasadena. Sophia enjoyed helping people and loved to cook for everyone. She treated everyone like they were family and had a smile that could light up the darkest room. She was our rock and raised a family she was very proud of. Her love will always be remembered, and her legacy will live on.

A Visitation Service is scheduled for Friday, January 14th 2022, between 5pm-9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston Tx 77023. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 15th 2022, at 1pm at San Juan Diego Church located at 3301 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena Tx 77503. She will be buried at Grand View Cemetery located at 8501 Spencer Hwy. at 3pm following church service. A reception will follow at South Houston Community Center located at 1007 State St. South Houston Tx 77587.

Food Donations for Friday can be sent to Forest Park on Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston Tx 77023.
