Sophie Agnes Rodriguez

She was born in Bremond, Texas on May 20, 1925 to the late Tom and Rose Kempenski. She worked as a Bookkeeper until she became disabled. Sophie enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing bingo, gardening and line-dancing. She loved watching baseball and football and rooting on her favorite teams. Sophie also thoroughly enjoyed participating in activities at the senior center in Conroe.

Sophie was preceded in death by her son Paul Raymond Rodriguez Jr., her granddaughter Hope Wyrick, her father Tom Kempenski, her mother Rose Kempenski, and her brothers Fred and Tom Kempenski, Jr.

Sophie is survived by her granddaughter Theresa Slafka (husband Rick Slafka), her three great-grandchildren, Michelle Mayo-Tuttle, Charles Mayo (wife Desiree), and Chloe Slafka, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Catholic mass will be held in honor of Sophie on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with a gravesite service following at noon at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy., Houston, Texas 77039.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
