I had the distinct pleasure of serving with Michael a few years ago at Fort Know. He always had a smile on his face, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

I wanna say I know its not easy letting go of anyone it never is.  Mike was/is a loving caring funny man who everyone got along with and he will continue to be that even tho he is no longer here with us physically... He's in a better place looking down on all his family so even tho he's not here right beside y'all just know he's there spiritually. I WANNA SAY I LOVE ALL YALL GUYS AND YALL ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS... R.I.P MIKE...

What a funny and upbeat man. I could tell he was amazing the first time I met him. My daughter adored him and so did I. I'm glad he was always there for my sister and brother when they needed it. He was such a great friend to them and I'm glad to have known him. It's such a sad thing that happened but I guess heaven was needing another hero and he was a perfect fit. You will always be remembered and missed terribly.

My heart  aches for the loss of such a wonderful man. I'm so grateful to both Mike and Norma for being there for Tommy & Diana in their times of need. The kind of friendship you all share is rare. It knows no  bounds, even death. Continue too be there for one another and remember Mike is watching over you all.  Mike's ability to show so much love for others was such a special attribute. We should all strive to be more like him.  I'm so blessed to have met him and will never forget how much he meant to our family. My grand children will know about their wonderful Uncle Mike.  Rest in peace solider.

My heart goes out to the Perez family and friends. Mike was a person who always led by example and never let his soldiers or family down. I deployed with Mike numerous times overseas and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be here today if not for Mike. He was a friend and a mentor and I will miss him greatly. The world is a lesser place without him in it. I will always cherish the memories we had together and I have no doubt that you will look out for all of us in the future just as you have always done in the past.

We love you so much Papi.  You were the Colvin's best of friends.  There is absolutly nobody who can ever compare. Thank you for being my husband's brother and always, always being there.  Thank you for keeping him sane on deployment and everyday at that. Thank you for always lending out your hand, your heart,your ear and your encouraging words. I don't know where to begin speaking about this man. I deployed with him in 2004 on my first deployment and he was like a father to many of us. He always laughed, always smiled. He always took the time to mentor, but most of all he ALWAYS cared about every soldier. He was the first NCO in the Army I ever knew who actually cared about his men. RIP good soul. Watch over the rest of us.

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be your neighbor, your buddy, your partner in crime... such fond and beautiful memories that I will continue to cherish... Love you papa...
