

Aunt Susie was positive, resilient and loving. She radiated her infectious laugh and upbeat personality to everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time at her country home in Anderson, Texas gardening and hosting her family and friends. Susie was a very faithful and prayerful woman that loved spending time at her church, participating in the Ladies Circle and working on various church projects throughout the year.
She loved coordinating the yearly tamalada (tamale making party) at her home. Aunt Susie shared her love for painting as her spirit will live on in her beautiful wooden cutouts that will grace family members yards for many holidays to come. Her unmatched skill in poker made each family game night fun and unforgettable with a little addition of her friend Jack Daniels. Aunt Susie will be missed, but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eulalio "Lalo" Costilla and son, Daniel Costilla.
Susan is survived by her daughter Lillian and fiancé Adam Medina; brother Julian Castro (Emilia); grandchildren, great grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Raymond Van Buskirk, at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1501 Houston Avenue Houston, Texas 77007.
Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
