Susan V. Pike

Susan Vacher Pike, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the age of 60. Susan was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 25, 1953. She was raised and lived her life in Houston, Texas. She attended Sharpstown High School. Susan worked in Banking for more than 30 years. Most recently, she worked at Walgreens as a Beauty Advisor. Susan enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, gardening, cooking, and reading. She was a strong woman that always put others before herself. Susan is survived by her parents, Dr. John and Patricia Pike; brothers Herb and his daughter Nicole Pike, Michael and Patrick; sisters Theresa and husband Denny Jones, and Mary Pike; daughters Sondra Langland, Julie and husband Gabriel Brackett; granddaughters Lauren and Sarah Langland, Natalie and Avery Brackett. Susan was preceded in death by David E. Sanford, her husband of 25 years. The funeral will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, Texas 77023, 713-928-5141, Saturday, November 23, 2013. The viewing will be from 1:00 – 2:00pm with a rosary service beginning at 1:30pm. The funeral service will start at 2:00pm and burial immediately following. Reception will also be held at Forest Park after the services. Susan’s pride and joy was supporting her granddaughter, Natalie, in her Equine Assisted Therapy program. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Susan’s memory to: Leap of Faith Therapeutic Riding Program, c/o Conroe Family YMCA, 10245 Owen, Conroe, Texas 77304.
