

Sylvia (known as Jean or Jenean to family and friends) was born in Houston, TX on July 13, 1937, to Frank Nathan Ward and Martha Elizabeth Weldon, who preceded her in death and her sister, Sharon Flick.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean Hopper and son-in-law, Stan Hopper; son, David Frank Brodie and her daughter-in-law, Renee Brodie, and son, Bobby Nathan Brodie; grandson, Travis Lee Hopper; grandson, Ryan Stanford Hopper and wife, Anna Hopper; great-grandson Michael Edward Hopper. She is also survived by her brother, David Weldon Ward and wife, Mary Katherine Ward.
Jenean was a loving mother, grandmommie, and great-grandmommie who was deeply devoted to her family. She always looked for opportunities to travel and celebrate special occasions with her family to make long-lasting memories for them. Her playful nature always brought laughter to family and friends. She enjoyed the special times spent with her church families and especially those in her Sunday school classes at South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena & First Baptist Church of Pasadena.
She served the city of Houston as a municipal employee in the Water Department for 23 years before retiring.
A visitation for Jenean will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church - Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A graveside service will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at South Park Cemetery, 1310 North Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
