

Thomas D. “Jack” Pierce, Sr., age 92, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at his home in Huntsville, Texas. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, Jack spent most of his life in the Houston area graduating from Lamar High School. He enlisted in the Army after high school serving in WWII. He served in Germany and France, and was in the Battle of the Bulge. Jack was active in his children’s lives, coaching little league teams, and served on the Klein ISD school board for 17 years. He was also active in his church and was a Baptist deacon for 40 years. Jack was a Christian man who was well respected and much loved by all who knew him. He led a full and wonderful life, and loved his family dearly. He will be deeply missed, and his family and friends look forward to the day they will be reunited with Jack and all of those they have loved who are in Heaven. He was preceded in death by the much loved mother of his children, Loetta, to whom he was married 34 years; and his parents, a brother, Bobby, and sisters, Louise and Johnnie Mae. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kathy Pierce; his children, Jean Ewing and husband Bob, Pat Smith and husband Willie, and Tommy Pierce and wife Violet; step-daughters, Virgie Griffith and husband William “Griff”, and Janice Phillips; 29 grandchildren; two brothers, Sonny and Fred Pierce and their wives; and one sister, Billie Marie and her husband. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven, with Pastor Danney Stanley and Pastor Ken Bugh, officiating. Interment will be held privately at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
