

Thomas McNeese Foster of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born as a fifth generation Texan to Esther Marie Mittelstedt Foster and Leslie Williams Foster on April 1, 1943. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in the Heights. Tommy attended Roosevelt Elementary, Hogg Junior High and graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. He began his working career as a paperboy at age 12 and a delivery driver at Houston Tools Incorporated at the age of 14. He began his forty-year career with Foxboro Instrumentation at age 17 as a shop worker while going to night school. He graduated from The University of Houston with an Electrical Engineering degree which allowed him to quickly rise through the ranks of outside sales and management. He was a member of ISA and also served on the Steering Committee of the Texas A&M Instrumentation Symposium. On June 18, 1965 he married his high school sweetheart Georgeine Bonjour. They were blessed with two sons, Thomas Kent Foster and Kirk Hunter Foster. Tom loved being around people from all walks of life. His job in outside sales provided the opportunity to meet many folks. It is unlikely that anyone that met Tom could forget him. His unique sense of humor and love of a good prank or joke were well known.
Tommy was a high school athlete and loved sports of any kind. He was a faithful supporter of University of Houston Athletics and a devoted Houston Astros fan.
He was a loyal lifetime member of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, proudly volunteering his time for over forty years. Every February he pulled out his boots, hat and western wear with a smile, ready to serve his committee.
The annual tradition of the Lampasas Shootout was always an anticipated adventure shared by lifelong friends, business acquaintances and family. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman creating lifetime memories hunting, fishing and boating with loved ones.
He will be greatly missed by countless loved ones, especially “His Bride” of 59 years. He is survived by his wife Georgeine Bonjour Foster, children Thomas Kent Foster (Dana) and Kirk Hunter Foster (Amy); Grandchildren Travis, Reagan, Laurel and Abby Foster; Siblings Wayne Foster (Betty), Barbara Foster Rawlinson and Bambi Foster Sedita (Sammy), along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Jeannine Bonjour Long and brothers-in-law Clinton Long and Billy Rawlinson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church on Friday March 8th at 12 noon with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom Foster’s memory to St. Timothy Lutheran Church located at 14225 Hargrave Rd., Houston, Tx 77070 or a charity of your choice.
