

He was born on September 4, 1935 in Kai Ping, Guangdong, China.
A life long Houstonian who was active in the Houston Chinese community.
Many fond memories will always be held by his family and friends. A loving, kind and patient husband, father and grandfather. Known for his warm smile, gregarious laugh, love of family, friends, good food and sports.
He emigrated to the U.S. in 1952 and served in The U.S. Army in Europe from 1954 – 1956.
Upon his discharge he worked in the grocery business for two years before he met and married his wife Lai--‐Yee Kwong in Hong Kong in 1958.
He and his wife settled in Houston, Where they raised their four children, Lillian, Debbie, Karen and Glen. Mr. Kwan operated a grocery store in Denver Harbor for many years before venturing into the restaurant business. He later returned to the grocery business and worked for a local grocery chain until his retirement.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5--‐ 9 p.m.
The memorial service to commemorate his life is scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2015 At 10 a.m.
All events will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023.
