Velma was employed for many years by MS Foundation, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there and knew all aspects of the business. She also worked doing private accounting from her home. Both of her careers were very fulfilling.
Velma affectionately known as Fuzzy will long be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved fashion and it was quite obvious as her appearance was always impeccable, accessories and all. Being an avid seamstress she made a majority of her clothing as well as her children's clothing and even her husband's ties. In addition, she was a very accomplished quilter and loved to attend quilting events with her sisters. Antique shopping with Jim always brought a smile to her face.
Along with her loving husband, Velma raised her family with strong christian values, life was centered around family. Lifetime memories that will long be cherished include camping at Bastrop State Park and Marina Village. Holidays were always filled with fun and love. Nurturing and caring for others, Velma went beyond her family. She was very giving with her time and treasures and was supportive to those in need.
Her spirit is carried on by her children; Kay Noland Yasoni and Debra Noland; grandchildren; Tiffany (Andrew) Johnson, Andria Knight, and Chelsea Roncancio; sister’s Evelyn Chance and Darlene (Mike) Whatley, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. She is predeceased by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 58 years, Jim Noland, sister, Barbara Watson, great-grandson, Zion Gray Mikhael Baker and parents, Oleta Pruitt and Ewald Fischer.
A graveside service for Velma will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079.
