

Vernon Lee Bridwell, 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on November 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 15, 1944, in Hockley County, Texas, Vernon grew up in Ropesville, where he attended school before continuing his education at West Texas State University.
In 1980, Vernon made Houston his home and, in 1985, founded Tri-State Mechanical. This company thrived under his unmatched work ethic and deep dedication to both the business and its employees. He was known for his passion for excellence, which became the foundation of his professional success.
Outside of work, Vernon found joy in car racing, hunting, and farming, hobbies that reflected his energetic spirit and love for hands-on endeavors. Above all, Vernon’s pride and joy were his four daughters, who were the center of his world and a source of endless happiness.
Vernon is survived by his devoted wife, Carleen Bridwell; his loving daughters Sheila (Bruce) Fowler, Kerri (Keith) Shields, Brenna (Scott) Kollmorgen, and Brandy Milson; his sister, Lavorise Staples; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and a host of cherished friends.
Vernon’s life will be celebrated on Friday, November 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Graveside services will be held in Paducah, Texas, Saturday at 3 p.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and share in the joy he brought to those around him.
Vernon Lee Bridwell’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
