Virginia Irene Cervenka

Virginia Irene Cervenka, age 83, passed away July 3, 2021. Virginia was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born and raised in South Houston, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1956. Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life, Eugene Cervenka, on October 12, 1956. She and her husband Eugene raised 2 children who gave them 3 grandchildren.

Virginia worked as a secretary most of her adult life. She enjoyed working and was very fond of all her coworkers. She retired in 2002. She loved gardening and being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and going places with all her friends and neighbors in the Inverness Forest Women’s Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene, parents George and Helen, and sister Carol. She is survived by her children, Jerry and Janet, grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, and Anthony, brother George and his wife Carol, sister Sylvia, sister-in-law Margaret and her husband Jim, and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia is one of those people who liked everyone, no matter who you were. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A visitation for Virginia will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 12, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, followed by a burial from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
